LO4: Feedback

We conducted A survey to see what we could improve on our trailer, we gave the group the 4th draft of the trailer:

From this feedback, we can tell that the blank space needs filling in with footage as well as adding in titles such as the title of the film and production company. Also adding in text when the cast shows up would help it follow the conventions of a trailer. We have made these changes as part of our final draft

LO4: Evidence of editing and audio levels

For the last section of the trailer with the TV static and title sequence we had to drag these onto the track, then by using the razor tool we cut these to the appropriate size, these needed to be changed as by default they are very long. We decided to use sharp cuts in our trailer to build tension so we did not use fading effects of our footage, instead we used the razor tool to cut it where was appropriate and fitted it with the music. We decided to fit our music to the visuals so that as the music was building up so was the visuals which built more tension. I also had to cut the music and apply fade-in-out to the middle part, this was because the music was too long and so lost tension, i applied a fade-in-out with a shot duration so that these two  music clips blended together.

The audio for our short film that we recorded whilst filming wasn't very clear in certain scenes due to background noise and the windy weather on the day of filming. With the first crime scene there was an issue where some machinery could be heard, because of this we had to re record the audio in a studio using a hand held microphone which we then synced to the actors lip movement. To do this we had them listen to the way they said the line and asked them to repeat it as close as possible so that it could be synced with the video appropriately. We then inserted and blended the audio with background noise inorder to make it seamless. By doing this now allows us to have crisp and clear audio which can be heard over background noise and can be understood making for a better film altogether. We used some of this audio for our trailer such as the 'officer down' audio used for effect at the end. We also had to change the audio levels in premiere for some of the clips such as the music and audio so that it was balanced, i did this through editing the levels in the audio editing section of premier moving the bar up or down depending on the audio.

LO3: Following safe working pratices

We ensured our cast and crew stayed safe while filming as we stuck to our risk assessment, we took regular breaks in order for us to not become strained or tired from filming, we concealed and limited any wires needed for filming. As we were in a public place we briefed all cast and crew on what to do if a problem with a member of the public arises to again minimize potential risks which may have arisen.

The house and office where very safe locations, however, we made sure to stay safe around the lights and warned everyone to be careful around the lights and no to touch the bulbs as they could burn people if they got too hot, we managed to do these simple commands and everyone behaved responsibly around the lights and no one was hurt.
To stop a risk of fire we did not cram up a bunch of equipment into a small space and also we did not plug too much equipment into one plug as this is also a risk of fire. There was no fire as because of the actions we took, which is good as fire is a massive risk. We taped down wires to reduce the risk of people tripping which made the recording area safer for our group and the actors. No one tripped over or even nearly did making the taped down wires a success and meant no one got harmed.
We made sure to not overwork the actors by having regular breaks while filming. we ensured the actors were happy during filming meaning we stuck to this practice. The equipment being stolen was a risk as we were mainly filming in public although to combat this we made sure the expensive equipment wasn't on show so people weren't as likely to steal from us. We made sure not to film the public or if any members of the public are in the shot their face is not recognizable. In the Alleyway scene we decided to block off the alleyway for a short period of time to avoid getting the public in shot when they did not want to be filmed, if at any point members of the public were visible we made sure to brief them so they were happy for this to feature in our product.
When we where filming the supermarket scene it rained to avoid water damage we only filmed inside and when we took the equipment outside we made sure they where all in their waterproof cases aswell for extra measures we covered the equipment with water resistive pieces of clothing like coats and hats. We also managed to keep any spillages from happening by acting responsibly and we told the actor to be responsible with the groceries he picked up. We managed to have no issues with traffic as the alleyway location was not close enough to the road to cause an issue.
